New Jersey – The Swarthmore College men's track and field team kept busy over the weekend competing at both the Sam Howell Invitational (Princeton) and the Osprey Open (Richard Stockton).

On Friday at the Sam Howell Invitational, senior Jacob Phillips crushed a personal best by 16 seconds in the 10,000m (31:23.79) as well as hitting the ECAC qualifying mark.

At the Osprey Open, the Garnet cruised through the 800-meter event with four top-10 finishes including a first-place pace from Erick White (1:57.96) who was followed closely by teammates Jonas Oppenheimer (3rd, 2:00.10), Paul Green (6th, 2:02.19), and Aidan DuMont-McCaffrey (7th, 2:02.22).

Matthew Heck collected a season-best 23.42 finish in the 200-meter for seventh place overall. In the 1,500-meter, the Garnet secured top finishes with Dan Creem (5th, 4:14.04), Dan Kalamarides (7th, 4:14.58), Spencer Friske (8th, 4:15.26), Erik Myers (10th, 4:17.88).

Alec Toro clocked a 10:44.64 mark in the 3,000 steeplechase and Matthew Heck, Martinez, White and Ethan Lee teamed for a second place finish in the 4x400-meter relay (3:29.76).

The Garnet return to action on Saturday, April 13 at the Moravian Invitational beginning at 10:00 a.m.
