GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – A handful of the Swarthmore College men's track and field team were back in action Wednesday afternoon at the Gwynedd-Mercy Mid-Week Twilight Invitational. The Garnet squad competed in both jumping and throwing events.
Sophomore Zach Kronstat took first place in the triple jump with a 13.23 meter score (43' 5.00") for a top-10 program mark and personal-best. Kronstat also finished the meet with a 1.57 meter (5' 1.75") high jump and 5.74 meter (18' 10.00") long jump.
Senior Eric Verhasselt scored in multiple events – pole vault (3.13m, 10' 3.25") and discus (25.33m, 83' 1.00") – and junior Gavin Fahey soared 5.57 meters (18' 3.25") in the long jump for a season-best mark.
Sophomore Ryan Guerrero scored 32.74 meters (107' 5.00") in the pole vault event.
Swarthmore will next compete at the Widener Invitational this coming Friday and Saturday. Members of the team will also compete at the Larry Ellis Invitational at Princeton on Friday.
