Box Score ELMIRA, N.Y. - Sophomore Andrew Preiser recorded a career-high four goals and senior Steve Selverian, freshman Mac Maguire and freshman Braeden DeWan each netted a pair to give the Swarthmore College men's lacrosse team (3-5) a 13-10 non-conference win over Elmira on Saturday afternoon.
Senior Wes Marcik, sophomore Chris Thomson and sophomore Ian Lukaszewicz also scored for Swarthmore, while junior Jonathan Molloy dished out a team-best two assists.
Junior Jonathan Cohen knocked away 15 shots for the third time this season and finished with a game-high five ground balls. Molloy and DeWan each scooped up three ground balls.
A close game throughout, Swarthmore pulled ahead of the Soaring Eagles (1-5) in the second period and maintained a slim edge throughout. A one-goal game early in the fourth period (10-9), huge unassisted goals from Maguire and Preiser helped the Garnet finish off the win.
Tyler Campbell finished with four goals for Elmira.
