Outdoor Track & Field Competition Resumes at the Danny Curran Invitational

CHESTER, Pa. - The Swarthmore College men's track and field team continued its outdoor season Thursday and Friday at the Danny Curran Invitational hosted by Widener University.

Day One Recap

On Thursday, Robert Fain (15:30.84) and Spencer Fiske (15:32.18) finished within seconds of each other in the 5,000 meter run for 11th and 12th overall, respectively.

In the field events, Zach Kronstat finished third overall in the triple jump with a 12.41 meter (40' 8.75") and Travis Mattingly finished sixth with an 11.38 meter (37' 4.00") mark.

Day Two Recap

Sophomore Jason Heo finished at 16.97 (110 hurdles) for sixth place overall and 1:01.18 (400 hurdles) to season-best marks. Eric Verhasselt clocked a 20.42 time in the 110 hurdles, while Travis Mattingly finished at 1:02.82 in the 400 hurdles.

Highlighting the track events, Matthew Heck clocked a 23.45 finish in the 200 meter dash, while Ethan Lee sped to a 52.31 400 meter finish. In the 800 meter run, Richard Scott was the Garnet top finisher at 2:00.67 and Jonas Oppenheimer crossed the line at 4:03.37 in the 1,500 meter run.

The Garnet is back in action on Thursday, April 5 at Distance Night hosted by Princeton.
