WHITTIER, Calif. - The No. 25 Swarthmore men's tennis team (2-3) dropped a pair of games on the West Coast, falling to No. 27 Whittier 7-2 on Tuesday and No. 11 Redlands 9-0 on Wednesday.
Junior Preston Poon and senior Malik Mubeen were both singles winners for the Garnet against Whittier. Poon won at the No. 3 spot 7-5, 6-2 over Schommer. Mubeeb continued his strong 2013 campaign with a three-set win (6-4, 3-6, 10-7) over Farmer.
Swarthmore closes out Spring Break with the Stag-Hen Invitational over the weekend. The Garnet opens with No. 2 Emory on Friday.
