NEW YORK – The Swarthmore College men's track and field team competed at the Lafayette/Rider Winter Games Invitational on Friday afternoon.
Senior Jacob Phillips highlighted the Garnet performances with a career-best 8:46.59 finish in the 3,000-meter run to take fifth-place. Shedding almost six seconds off his previous time, the new mark stands as the program's fourth-best.
Senior Matthew Heck, competing in two events, clocked 23.62 (200M) and 51.76 (400M) and sophomore Erick White finished the 800-meter run at a 2:00.97 pace.
Aidan DuMont-McCaffrey and Jonas Oppenheimer crossed the finish line at 4:28.13 and 4:40.72, respectively, in the mile event.
Swarthmore will return to competition on February 15th at the Keogh Invitational held at Haverford College.
