SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Sophomore
Nikkia Miller won the 100-yard breastroke to help lead the Swarthmore College women's swimming team to a second-place finish among six schools at the Swarthmore Invitational on Saturday, Nov. 23 at the Ware Pool.
Miller triumphed in the 100-yard breastroke by hitting the wall in 1:09.74. In addition, the sophomore swam with freshmen
Erica Flor and
Abigail Byrne as well as senior
Erin Lowe on the 200-yard medley relay that posted a runner-up time of 1:55.90.
Other notable performances in individual events were made by sophomore
Eva Winter and Flor, who each registered a pair of top-three finishes in individual events. Flor was second in the 200-yard backstroke and third in the 100-yard backstroke with marks of 2:14.64 and 1:03.28, respectively, while Winter was third in the 100-yard breastroke by finishing in 1:12.20 and third in the 200-yard breastrsoke in 2:35.25.
Ursinus won the meet with 1,071 points, while Swarthmore was second with 712 points. Juniata (434), Lycoming (329), Cabrini (323) and Ocean County College (203) rounded out the team scoring.
Swarthmore will be back in action on Saturday, Dec. 7 when it hosts Ursinus for a dual meet at 1 p.m.
