SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Freshman
Erica Flor factored into a pair of runner-up finishes to help lead the Swarthmore women's swimming team to a second-place standing among six scoring schools after the first session of the Swarthmore Invitational on Friday, Nov. 22 at the Ware Pool.
Flor placed second individually in the 200-yard individual medley by hitting the wall in 2:19.18. She also swam the opening leg of the second-place 400-yard medley relay squad that finished in 4:13.62. Sophomore
Eva Winter as well as freshmen
Abigail Byrne and
Briana Schoenek were also members of the relay.
Another notable performance was made by Swarthmore's 200-yard freestyle relay squad consisting of senior
Rebecca Teng, sophomore
Nikkia Miller, senior
Erin Lowe and Schoenek. The group finished third with a third-place time of 1:44.72.
Ursinus ended the evening leading the field through five events with 336 points, while Swarthmore was second with 225 points. Juniata (153), Ocean County Community College (96), Cabrini (92) and Lycoming (45) rounded out the team scoring.
The Swarthmore Invitational concludes tomorrow beginning at 9:30 a.m.
