NEW YORK – Highlighted by setting the program's third-best distance medley mark, the Swarthmore College women's track and field returned to indoor competition on Saturday in the NYC Gotham Cup held at the Armory.
Katie McMenamin, Jenna Cody, Rebecca Hammond and Julia Nee paced the Garnet to a second place finish in the distance medley event, clocking in at 12:35.91 (ECAC qualifier), which now stands as the program's third-best mark all-time.
Also on the track, Becky Painter finished eighth overall in the 3,000-meter run, crossing the finish line at 10:39.00 for an ECAC qualifying mark.
In the 60-meter dash three Swarthmore runners placed times on the programs top-ten list; Amy Amuquandoh (8.88), Helen Thum (9.33) and Shaina Lu (9.48). Additionally, sophomore Zoe Cina-Sklar ran a collegiate-best mile of 6:05.79.
The Garnet will return to the competition Saturday, January 19th in the NYU Team Challenge held at the Armory.
