RICHMOND, Va. - The Swarthmore College men's swimming team re-entered the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Top-25 national rankings, announced on Friday afternoon. The Garnet were selected No. 25 in the national poll, while earning the fifth spot in the Northeast-South Region.
The men's team earned a 6-1 dual meet record during the regular season and finished 6-0 in conference competition. Swarthmore wrapped up its dual meet schedule with a dominant 158-104 victory over a talented Gettysburg squad, who were picked seventh in the region.
Sophomore Omar Ebied headlined this past week for the Garnet with a Centennial Conference Swimmer of the Week selection. Ebied posted four lifetime bests, a pair of top-10 all-time swims and set a Ware Pool record at this weekend's Swarthmore Invitational.
The Garnet head into next weekend's Centennial Championships as the reigning conference champions. Swarthmore captured its third Centennial title in program history and are poised to build on last season's success.
