COLORADO SPRINGS – Swarthmore College's
Josie Sarno was the honorable mention for this week's National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III Defensive Player of the Week award, the organization announced on Wednesday.
Sarno earned national recognition after being named the Centennial Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday. She made 16 saves across two wins, including 10 in a comeback victory over then-No. 19 TCNJ and six in a 5-0 shutout at Widener. Sarno is 4-2 overall this year with 42 saves and a .824 save percentage. The rookie ranks 35
th in the nation in save percentage.
The Garnet host Rowan University on Wednesday night.
