COLORADO SPRINGS – The Swarthmore College field hockey team climbed into the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Top 25 Poll on Tuesday, coming in at No. 24.
After an 0-2 start, the Garnet have won four straight games, including back-to-back victories over nationally-ranked squads Stevens Institute of Technology and The College of New Jersey. It is the fourth consecutive season in which Swarthmore has appeared in a national ranking.
Libby Castle is off to a hot start in her rookie year and leads the Garnet with four goals and eight points.
Gabriella Vasquez has notched three goals and one assist for seven points.
Magdelana Jordan is the leader in assists (3) and has five points on the year.
Josie Sarno has had a solid start to her first season in the cage, posting 42 saves and an .824 save percentage. She has recorded two shutouts during Swarthmore's four-game win streak.
The Garnet are back in action on Wednesday when they host Rowan University.
