LANCASTER, Pa. – Swarthmore College's
Melissa Eyer earned Centennial Conference Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week honors on Tuesday.
Eyer amassed 47 digs (5.88 per set) and added nine assists in a pair of wins, recording a season-high in digs in back-to-back matches. She opened with 22 digs in a 3-1 conference win versus Dickinson. The junior bested the mark with 25 digs in another four-set triumph over Vassar. She helped hold the Brewers to a .163 hitting percentage, including -.115 in the second set. Eyer also received 35 serves over the two matches, committing just one error for a .971 receiving percentage.
The Garnet host Salisbury University on Friday to begin their Swarthmore Invitational.
