SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The No. 15 Swarthmore College women's swimming team wrapped up its fifth-straight undefeated season with a 206-109 victory over No. 18 Gettysburg College on Friday and Saturday. The women have won 48-straight head-to-head matchups with 44 consecutive victories over conference opponents.
The women combined for six Ware Pool records as numerous swimmers put forth outstanding performances in the regular season finale. Genine Collins set pool records in both the 50 and 100 freestyles, while Kate Hallmark and Quinn Weygandt took down individual milestones in the 1650 freestyle and 400 IM, respectively. The Garnet also toppled records in the 400 medley and 200 freestyle relays.
Weygandt led the charge with three individual victories and a win in the 400 freestyle relay. Collins and Hallmark each captured two individual wins, with Collins sweeping all six events she competed in, including four relay victories.
FRIDAY
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Swarthmore 400 medley relay of Maya Ambardekar, Elle Anthony, Norah Rutkowski and Collins handled the Bullets top relay, winning with a time of 3:47.68. The team set a new pool record, outswam the NCAA B Cut and currently have the tenth fastest time in the nation. The swim was also the fifth fastest time in program history, while Ambardekar's split marked the second fastest 100 backstroke time.
- Weygandt narrowly missed out on breaking her program record by a few tenths of a second, placing first in the 400 IM with a pool record of 4:20.85. The senior recorded her fastest time of the season, while moving into second place on the national Division-III rankings. She bested the nearest finisher by 13 seconds, and comfortably beat the NCAA B Cut. Emerson Schneider grabbed third place with a 4:35.86 finish, moving into sixth all-time in program history.
- The Garnet swept the top-three positions in the 200 IM with Weygandt leading the way at 2:03.99. Sam Packard trailed in second place at 2:07.05, while Rutkowski claimed third with a 2:08.27 mark. Weygandt outswam the NCAA B Cut and currently ranks 12th in the nation, while Packard's time moved her into eighth in program history.
- The Garnet had one more incredible swim in them, winning the 200 freestyle relay with a pool record of 1:32.91. The team of Collins, Riley Bacinski, Ainsley Jane Tambling and Anthony bested the NCAA B Cut, while posting the second-fastest mark in program history and the sixth best swim in the nation. Collins also outperformed the NCAA B Cut in the 50 frees with a 23.01 split.
- Hallmark grabbed a runner-up finish in the 200 freestyle. The senior finished with a time of 1:54.88, as she kicked off an excellent senior farewell meet.
- Sophia Caceres recorded the fastest time in the 100 butterfly time trials, racing to a 58.31 finish. The junior swam a pair of lifetime bests on the evening with standout performances in the 500 freestyle and 100 butterfly.
SATURDAY
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Hallmark toppled the pool record in the 1650 freestyle with a time of 17:20.23. The senior took six seconds off the previous mark, while winning the event by nearly six seconds.
- The women maintained their relay success with a victory in the 200 medley. The team of Ambardekar, Anthony, Rutkowski and Collins outtouched Gettysburg with a time of 1:44.02. Collins brought things home for the Garnet with an outstanding freestyle split (22.33) to gain separation from a crowded pack.
- Ambardekar beat out a pair of Gettysburg challengers in the 100 backstroke. The rookie touched the wall at 56.62, narrowly missing out on a personal best.
- Anthony led a 1-2-3 Swarthmore sweep in the 100 breaststroke. The senior paced the trio with a 1:05.26 mark, while Packard (1:06.72) and Cara Dominici (1:07.12) followed behind in second and third, respectively.
- Weygandt picked up another victory with a 2:03.74 mark in the 200 butterfly. The senior outswam the NCAA B Cut, while recording the 14th fastest time in Division-III.
- Collins took down her own pool record in the 50 freestyle, which was previously broken last night. The junior didn't wait long as she cut a couple hundredths of a second off her record with a 22.98 finish. The mark was still a couple tenths of a second off her conference record. Bacinski grabbed third in the event with a 24.11 effort.
- Collins continued her edits on the record book, taking down another pool record in the 100 freestyle. The junior raced to a time of 51.41, while Anthony followed in second place at 52.29.
- Swarthmore claimed second and third overall in the 200 backstroke. Ambardekar finished at 2:05.32, while Marin Norlander trailed in third with a 2:07.14 result.
- The Garnet swept the top-three in the 200 breaststroke. Rutkowski led the trio with a 2:24.55 finish, while Dominici (2:26.67) and Annabelle Hoover (2:27.64) followed in order to complete the sweep.
- Hallmark earned her second victory of the afternoon, winning the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:03.45. Ava Craig followed in second place with a 5:10.38 finish.

Mirabel Fernald placed second in the 100 butterfly with a 57.45 effort, while
Margaret Sawa grabbed third at 58.24.
- The 400 freestyle relay of Bacinski, Collins, Weygandt and Anthony capped off the meet with another relay victory. The team touched at 3:26.76 to record the fourth-fastest result in program history.
