LANCASTER, Pa. - Swarthmore College's
Genine Collins was named the Centennial Conference Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week for the second time this season on Tuesday.
Collins was a winner in all four events in which she competed to lead the 15th-ranked Garnet to a thrilling 134-128 victory at 19th-ranked Johns Hopkins. The junior earned wins in the 50 freestyle (23.03), setting a new pool record, and 100 freestyle (51.62). She also anchored the victorious 200 medley relay (1:44.50), out-touching the Blue Jays by just two-tenths of a second, and was on the first-place 400 free relay (3:28.61). Swarthmore took down Hopkins for the second straight season while capturing its 46th consecutive head-to-head win and 43rd straight victory over a conference opponent.
The Garnet are back in action on Friday when they take on Kean University.
