HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Swarthmore College men's cross country team placed fourth overall out of ten teams at Haverford College's Main Line Invitational on Friday. The Garnet led all Division-III programs, beating out the host Haverford. 

Matthew Fleming finished as the team's top performer with a 21st-place effort. The Garnet standout placed as the second-fastest Division-III competitor. 


HOW IT HAPPENED
- Fleming set a new personal milestone with a time of 20:19.3 at the four-mile race. The junior beat his previous best by over a full minute and earned his highest career finish at the Main Line Invite. 

- Jasper Mosley ran neck-and-neck with his teammate, finishing just two seconds behind Fleming with a time of 20:21.5. The sophomore placed 23rd overall, achieving a personal record by nearly a minute. 

- Cohen Manges placed 27th overall to put together another strong performance at Haverford. The junior finished at 20:36.0 to take home the 27th position. 

- Joey Alander and Teddy King-Pollet were 38th and 39th, respectively. Alander led the duo with a time of 20:50.3, while King-Pollet followed closely at 20:52.9. Both runners raced to personal records. 

- Charlie Schuetz earned a personal record for the second-straight race after leading the Garnet at the Bryn Mawr Invite to open the season. The junior was 42nd overall at today's race with a personal record of 20:57.6. He took nearly a minute off his previous-best mark.

- Luka Opacic-Rodrigues closed out the team's top-seven with a 52nd-place finish. The sophomore crossed the finish line at 21:14.1 to shave nearly 40-seconds off his previous best.
