Women’s Swimming Totals Nine All-American Swimmers, Weygandt Breaks Longstanding Program Record

GREENSBORO, NC - The No. 12 Swarthmore College women's swimming team earned nine All-American honors on the third day of the NCAA National Championships, bringing their total to 20 as they head into the final day of competition.

Quinn Weygandt captured the spotlight with her third and fourth All-American swims of the championships, bringing her career total to seven. The junior broke Garnet Hall of Famer Anne Miller's 17-year-old program record in the 200 butterfly, earning second-team honors. Miller's record was the last standing men's or women's record predating the hiring of head coach Karin Colby.

Weygandt also joined Lauren Rohde, Elle Anthony, and Ava Craig for an All-American second-team honor in the 800 freestyle relay. The Garnet finished 13th overall, marking the highest finish in Centennial Conference history. They are only the second team in conference history to earn All-American status in the event. Craig and Rohde also captured their first-career All-American honors.

Swarthmore continued its relay success with a second-team finish in the 200 medley relay. The quartet of Erin Szuromi, Sophie Rotival, Genine Collins, and Anthony earned their second All-American swim of the championships. Anthony has been a part of all four of Swarthmore's All-American relays this week.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Weygandt finished third in the consolation final to place 11th overall in the 200 butterfly, touching at 2:02.38 to break a 17-year-old program record. She became the first Centennial women's swimmer to earn All-American status in the event since 2017, surpassing the previous record of 2:02.44 set by Garnet Hall of Famer Anne Miller, whose time earned silver in 2008. Weygandt has won three individual all-american honors this week.

- The 200 medley relay team of Szuromi, Rotival, Collins, and Anthony finished fourth in the consolation final, securing 12th overall with a time of 1:43.31. The quartet earned All-American honors and previously earned second-team status in the 400 medley relay earlier in the week. They are the fourth relay in Centennial history, and the second in program history, to earn accolades in the 200 medley event.

- The 800 freestyle relay team of Rohde, Anthony, Craig, and Weygandt placed fifth in the morning prelims to earn second-team status. The Garnet posted a time of 7:31.92, marking the 13th best effort in the field and ranking second all-time in program history.

- Rotival competed in the 100 breaststroke prelims, posting a time of 1:03.47. The senior narrowly missed the finals by three-tenths of a second, finishing 20th overall in the morning session. She will return to the pool tomorrow for the 200 breaststroke.

- Annaliese Chen concluded her Swarthmore career with a time of 2:05.52 in the 200 butterfly, finishing 23rd overall in the prelims. The senior was an instrumental member of four-straight Centennial Conference Championships for the women.
