Teszler Rebreaks Program Record at UPenn

PHILADELPHIA - The Swarthmore College men's track & field team impressed with a handful of strong performances at the Widener Indoor Classic on Saturday. The Garnet made their second trip this season to the newly-opened Jane and David Ott Center at the University of Pennsylvania.

Theo Teszler and Colin DeLaney both earned third place finishes in their return to UPenn. Teszler rebroke his program record in the 400m run, which was set three weeks ago at the same venue. DeLaney also trimmed nearly 10-seconds off his mile to achieve a new personal record.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Teszler took down his own program record in the 400m run. The first-year finished third overall with a time of 49.23 to cut five-tenths of a second off his previous best. Three weeks ago, Teszler originally broke a 13-year-old indoor record on the same track.

- DeLaney raced to a third-place finish in the mile. The senior crossed the finish line at 4:17.47 to set a new personal record. DeLaney placed in the top-three out of 56 competitors, while finishing as the runner-up in the second heat.

- Charlie Schuetz placed fifth overall in the 3000m run. The sophomore clocked a time of 8:36.67 to achieve a new personal record. Joey Alander also posted a new best with a time of 8:56.23 for a 23rd place finish.

- Kenneth Relovsky set a new indoor best in the 800m run. The sophomore posted a time of 1:58.10 to finish 16th overall.
