SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The No. 20 Swarthmore College men's swimming team battled some of the nation's top programs while also picking up a Centennial Conference win at a pair of meets this weekend.
The Garnet came in 10
th place at the D3 Shootout hosted by the University of Chicago on Friday and Saturday. Including Swarthmore, the event featured six squads ranked in the top 25. Meanwhile, the Garnet defeated Washington College, 185-75, in conference action.
D3 SHOOTOUT

Cami Wilson had a standout weekend for Swarthmore, earning a pair of top-three individual finishes. The senior took second in the 100 fly, posting a NCAA B-cut time of 47.93. He also touched third in the 50 free (20.64).
- The 200 free relay of Wilson,
Danny Castle,
Dylan Ling, and
Luke Magnuson came in third place. The group's time of 1:23.17 cracked the program's top-10 list at number nine.
- The 200 medley relay of Wilson, Ling, Magnuson, and Castle just missed the podium, finishing fourth (1:30.90). Their time was good for seventh-best in program history.
SWARTHMORE 185, WASHINGTON 75
- The Garnet swept the top three spots in the 100 fly with
Timothy Fan (52.02),
Sam Peterson (54.46), and
Lester Wessels (55.74). Peterson won the 200 free with a time of 1:46.48 and
Jack Boerner followed in second (1:47.29).
- Swarthmore also finished 1-2-3 in the 200 IM.
Nolan Weygandt posted a winning time of 1:59.39 with
Mateo Smith and
Jayden Wang taking second (2:02.40) and third (2:03.59) respectively. Weygandt and Smith also placed first (54.89) and second (57.14) in the 100 IM.
- The Garnet swept the podium in the 100 free with Boerner (49.05),
Benton Greenberg (49.24), and
Andrew Hendrickson (49.30).
Matvey Ivanov was victorious in the 50 back with a time of 24.92 and Weygandt touched second (25.49).
Zayden Ramos and Greenberg came in first (22.27) and second (22.64) respectively in the 50 free.
- Ivanov was the winner in the 100 back with a time of 54.74. Wessels and
Theodore Kim were right behind in second (55.26) and third (55.74).
Jaime Taylor placed first (10:10.73) in the 1000 free with Kim following in second (10:14.86).
Will Trone and Wang finished second (27.49) and third (27.90) respectively in the 50 breast. The pair flipped spots in the 100 breast with Wang second (1:00.09) and Trone third (1:01.23).
- Swarthmore took the top two spots in the 200 medley relay. The team of Kim, Trone, Fan, and
Damian Rene posted a winning time of 1:38.38. The quartet of Wessels, Wang, Ramos, and Greenberg was second in 1:38.65. Ramos and Ivanov took second (24.35) and third (24.61) respectively in the 50 fly while the 200 free relay of Rene, Ramos, Greenberg, and Boerner touched second (1:28.05).
