LEXINGTON, Ky. – Swarthmore College's
Melissa Eyer and
Isabel Adam were both recognized with All-Region honors by the American Volleyball Coaches Association on Wednesday.
Eyer was named to the All-Region V First Team while Adam garnered honorable mention. It was the first career selection for both players. Last season, Eyer was chosen the Region V Freshman of the Year.
The Centennial Defensive Player of the Year for the second season in a row, Eyer ranked third in the region in digs per set (4.91) and fourth in total digs (516). She is the fifth player in program history to record 500-plus digs in a single season. Eyer posted 20 or more digs in a match 10 times this year with 25-plus on seven occasions. The sophomore was an All-Centennial First Team honoree for the second straight campaign.
Adam was seventh in the region in kills per set (3.51) and 10
th in total kills (347). Adam also produced 20 service aces, 11 assists, 169 digs, and 12 blocks. The sophomore totaled double-digit kills 21 times with a career-high 23 versus nationally-ranked Ithaca College. She was an All-Centennial Second Team selection.
The Garnet went 17-12 and qualified for the Centennial Conference Tournament.
