LOGAN TOWNSHIP, NJ - The Swarthmore College men's cross country team backed up its top ranking in the Metro Region with another outstanding performance at the Rowan Border Battle on Saturday morning. The Garnet finished second overall out of 35 teams, while defeating Haverford College once again to earn the top spot out of Metro challengers.
Matthew Fleming added to his breakout season with a 15th-place finish to lead the Garnet. The junior raced to another personal record and has beaten his best in all four races to open the season.
Swarthmore's depth was on full display as six of its top-seven finishers set personal records. Individually, the men continued to build upon their standout seasons as the Garnet upheld their position as the region's top team with championships around the corner.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Fleming raced to a time of 25:07.3 to place 15th overall. The junior set a personal record by 25-seconds to record his highest career finish at DREAM Park. Fleming destroyed his previous-best course record of 26:22.7, which was recorded during his rookie season at the Border Battle.

Cohen Manges and
Jasper Mosley both finished inside the top-25. Manges claimed 22nd overall with a 25:13.8 finish, while Mosley ran closely behind at 25:15.4. Mosely recorded his fourth-straight race with a personal record. The sophomore took a few tenths of a second off his team-leading mark from the Paul Short Run.

Charlie Schuetz contributed to the team's success with a 35th-place finish. The junior claimed key points for the Garnet with a time of 25:33.3, which marked a 24-second personal record. Schuetz has set a personal record in all four races this season.

Luka Opacic-Rodrigues was 49th overall with a time of 25:46.3. The sophomore improved 12-seconds from his time at the Paul Short Run. He has earned a personal record in every race this season.

Teddy King-Pollet and
Alex Thompson finished 60th and 65th overall to round out the team's top-seven. King-Pollet raced to a time of 25:55.5, while Thompson finished at 25:58.8. Both runners achieved new personal bests.
