GLASSBORO, N.J. – The No. 10 Swarthmore College women's swimming team picked up a pair of victories on Saturday, defeating Kean University, 152.5-108.5, and host Rowan University, 191-70.
Genine Collins and
Quinn Weygandt each earned two individual victories to lead the Garnet.
Ava Craig and
Georgi Mathews tallied one win apiece and the Garnet were victorious in the 200 freestyle relay. Swarthmore recorded at least one top-three finish in every event.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Weygandt and
Annaliese Chen went one-two in both the 200 butterfly and 200 IM. Weygandt won the 200 fly in 2:05.86 and claimed victory in the 200 IM with a time of 2:08.08. Chen registered runner-up times of 2:08.52 and 2:08.61 respectively. Weygandt also had a third-place in the 200 breaststroke (2:26.45).
- Collins was the winner in both the 100 freestyle (52.00) and 100 butterfly (57.38). Mathews touched the wall first in the 50 freestyle (24.61) while Craig experienced triumph in the 500 free (5:06.43). In addition, Craig took second (1:55.42) in the 200 free.
- Swarthmore captured the top two spots in the 200 free relay. The team of Collins,
Erin Szuromi, Mathews, and
Elle Anthony was first in 1:36.41. The group of
Cara Dominici,
Sophie Rotival,
Sophie Rodner, and Craig followed in second (1:39.52).
- Rotival was a two-time runner-up on the afternoon, finishing second in both the 100 (1:05.78) and 200 (2:26.35) breaststroke. Szuromi placed second (24.76) in the 50 free while
Mirabel Fernald came in second (58.09) in the 100 butterfly. The 200 medley relay team of
Maya Ambardekar, Rotival, Chen, and Collins touched the wall second (1:48.30).

Kate Hallmark had a pair of top-three performances, placing second (10:52.07) in the 1000 freestyle and third (5:13.96) in the 500 free. Anthony came in third in both the 100 (53.21) and 200 (1:57.64) freestyle.
Lauren Rohde also produced two third-place swims in the 100 (59.05) and 200 (2:08.42) backstroke.
