SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Swarthmore College men's swimming team dropped its Senior Day meet to No. 11 Johns Hopkins University, 166-96, at Ware Pool on Saturday.
Cami Wilson and
Cole Griscavage both recorded a pair of victories to lead the Garnet.
Danny Castle also earned a solo win and Swarthmore came out on top in the 200 freestyle relay.
Prior to the meet, the Garnet honored seniors
Omar Ebied, Griscavage,
Mats McGrath,
Jacob Sherman, and
Ham Williams-Tracy.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Wilson was victorious in the 100 butterfly with a NCAA B-cut time of 48.56. It was the third time this year that Wilson eclipsed the NCAA B-cut standard in the event. Wilson also touched the wall first in the 50 freestyle (20.65).
- Griscavage was the winner in the 100 breaststroke (57.39), out-touching the Blue Jays' top finisher by just 0.01 seconds. The senior also was the victor in the 100 freestyle (46.65).
- Castle was the top swimmer in the 200 freestyle, posting a winning time of 1:41.45. He cruised past the field, besting the second-place finisher from Hopkins by 1.25 seconds. Castle also came in second (46.89) behind Griscavage in the 100 free.
- The 200 freestyle relay of Castle, Wilson,
Levi Tipton, and Griscavage placed first with a time of 1:23.39, good for eighth-best in program history. Swarthmore also recorded a top-10 mark in the 200 medley relay. The quartet of
Matvey Ivanov, Griscavage, Wilson, and Castle clocked in at 1:30.78 for second place. Their time sits fifth all-time in the program record book.

Sam Peterson finished on the podium in the 200 butterfly, taking third with a time of 1:54.04.

The Garnet (4-3) travel to Rowan University on January 25 for a tri-meet that also includes Kean University.
