FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. – The Swarthmore College men's golf team sits in a tie for third place after the opening round of the Gettysburg Spring Shootout played on Saturday at Penn National Golf Club.
The Garnet posted a team score of 302 for the round and are six strokes off the lead.
Neil Zhu was Swarthmore's top scorer on Friday, carding a 73 (+1) to tie for fourth place on the leaderboard.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Zhu had the highlight of the day for the Garnet, shooting an eagle on the par-5 14
th hole. He also added three birdies during the round and is four strokes behind the leader.

Yuxuan Wang had a team-high six birdies on the way to a 74 (+2). He is tied for seventh place.
Max Ash finished with a four-over 76 and tallied three birdies. He sits in a tie for 14
th place.

Benjamin Garcia Moreira (80) both registered a birdie on the day.
