CHICAGO – The No. 24 Swarthmore College men's swimming team finished in ninth place against a number of top squads at the D3 Shootout hosted by the University of Chicago.
Cami Wilson produced the highlight of the day for the Garnet, touching second in the 100 butterfly in 48.16 seconds. He set a new Centennial Conference and program record with the swim, which was also a NCAA B cut.
Danny Castle also made an event podium, placing second in the 100 freestyle. Out of the nine teams the Garnet competed against, seven are currently ranked in the national top 25 by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Wilson surpassed his own school and conference record of 48.40 in the 100 butterfly that he set in 2023. He also swam to 18
th place (1:57.03) in the 200 individual medley. Wilson and
Benton Greenberg teamed with Genine Collins and Quinn Weygandt from the Swarthmore women's team to place second (3:16.36) in the mixed 400 freestyle relay.
- Castle was the runner-up in the 100 freestyle with a time of 46.05. He also took 14
th place in the 500 free (4:43.44). The 200 freestyle relay of Castle,
Cole Griscavage, Greenberg, and
Levi Tipton finished in sixth place (1:24.37).

Dylan Herink posted a pair of top-10 finishes, taking seventh (1:55.52) in the 200 backstroke and 10
th (2:13.46) in the 200 breaststroke respectively.

Ham Williams-Tracy competed in the A final of the 500 freestyle and came in eighth place (4:42.85). He also took 16
th (1:57.69) in the 200 backstroke.

Dylan Ling competed in both the 200 individual medley and 200 breaststroke, finishing 10
th (1:59.38) and 19
th (2:11.90) respectively.
- Griscavage tied for 13
th place (46.89) in the 100 freestyle while Tipton came in 16
th overall (50.69) in the 100 butterfly.
