Men’s Swimming Falls to No. 11 TCNJ

EWING, NJ - The Swarthmore College men's swimming team suffered its first loss of the season against No. 11 The College of New Jersey, 193-69, on Saturday afternoon.

Ben Freeman and Danny Castle paced the Garnet with a pair of runner-up finishes against the nationally-ranked Lions. Jacob Sherman also earned a couple top-three finishes with a second and third place effort. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Theodore Kim earned a second place finish in the 1000 freestyle with a 10:09.71 mark. 

- Freeman was the runner up in the 200 freestyle at 1:45.18. He then earned another second place effort in the 500 freestyle with a 4:53.13 finish. 

- Castle and Sherman placed second and third in the 100 backstroke. The first-year led the duo with a 53.64 effort, while Sherman followed closely at 53.75 in a tight finish. Castle also grabbed another second place finish in the 100 freestyle with a 47.05 mark.

- Vijay Chhabra took second in the 50 freestyle with a 21.49 finish, while fellow senior Ethan Marotte followed in third at 21.90. 

- Dylan Herink and Sherman were second and third in the 200 backstroke. Herink touched the wall at 1:57.12, while Sherman was a narrow third at 1:57.96. Sherman finished with a pair of top-three finishes on the afternoon. 

- Cami Wilson claimed a runner up finish in the 100 butterfly with a 51.15 effort. Ben Wesley then rounded out the afternoon with a third place mark in the 200 IM at 1:59.97.

The Garnet (2-1) return to action on Friday at Washington College.
