Manges Earns Top-10 Finish at Rowan Border Battle, Team Places Fifth

LOGAN TOWNSHIP, NJ - The Swarthmore College men's cross country team overcame wet and challenging conditions as it battled to a fifth place finish out of 31 teams at the Rowan Border Battle on Saturday. 

Cohen Manges earned a top-10 finish with a sixth place effort to pace the Garnet. Six of the team's top-seven finishers recorded personal records to highlight a successful morning. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Manges placed sixth overall with a time of 25:07.5 to earn a top-10 finish. The first-year earned a massive personal record as he shaved nearly a minute off his previous collegiate best in the 8k race. Manges finished with a time of 26:06.7 at the Paul Short Run for his previous best. 

- Sam Brody was second on the squad with a 31st place effort. The senior crossed the finish line at 25:39.3 to set a new personal record. Brody took 17 seconds off his previous best, which was recorded at last season's Paul Short Run. 

- Colin DeLaney finished just behind Brody with a 39th place effort. The junior posted a time of 25:47.7 to narrowly missed a personal best by 0.7 seconds. 

- Harrison Kim placed 47th overall with a 25:53.4 mark. The senior recorded a significant personal record as he cut 35 seconds off his previous best at the 2022 Centennial Championships.

- Ben Rosin and Kenneth Relovsky finished within four positions of each other as they placed 70th and 74th, respectively. Rosin posted a time of 26:18.0, while Relovsky followed with a 26:19.7 mark. Relovsky achieved a personal record by over a minute. 

- Matthew Fleming rounded out the team's top-seven finishers with a 26:22.7 mark to claim 81st overall. He was followed closely by his teammate Spencer Etheridge in 88th place at 26:27.7. Fleming recorded a collegiate best by over a minute, while Etheridge improved by 29 seconds.
