Cantine, Sheehy Lead Men’s Cross Country at Paul Short Run

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Swarthmore College men's cross country team returned to action at the Paul Short Run on Friday morning. 

Aidan Cantine and Will Sheehy paced the Garnet in the Men's College Brown race as the duo placed second and third among Centennial Conference competition. Colin DeLaney also impressed in the race as he earned a massive personal record to place third on the team.

Ben Rosin led the Garnet in this morning's Men's Open 8K as he also set a personal record for the event. 



MEN'S COLLEGE BROWN 8K
- Cantine and Sheehy finished 34th and 35th, respectively, to pace the Garnet. Cantine crossed the finish line at 24:39.9 in his season debut, while Sheehy followed behind with a 24:40.9 effort. Cantine set a course personal record, while falling just four seconds short of his overall career personal-best.

- DeLaney finished third on the squad with a time of 25:47.0 to finish 164th overall. The sophomore earned a massive personal record as he took nearly two minutes off his previous record at the Paul Short Run.

- Sam Brody earned a huge personal record with a time of 25:56.6 to place 192nd. Aiden Tomov also set a new personal record as he followed behind Brody at 26:04.2.

- Rowan Orlijan-Rhyne and Harrison Kim rounded out the team's top-seven finishers. Orlijan-Rhyme finished with a time of 26:34.2, while Kim posted a 26:42.0 effort.

MEN'S OPEN 8K
- Rosin paced the Garnet in the men's open 8K with a time of 26:44.5 to set a new personal record. The sophomore broke sub-27 in the 8K for the first time and took 35 seconds off his previous best effort. 

- Robert Mirabello crossed the finish line at 28:07.3 to record a new personal best. Michael Pham finished behind Mirabello with a personal-best of 28:33.5, while Keyan Shayegan ran a 28:47.6. 

- Eric Xing finished fifth on the squad with a 28:56.7 effort. Zach Gillette followed with a time of 29:46.6, while Alex Skeldon posted a 31:06.8 effort.

The Garnet wrap up their regular season slate at the DeSales Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 8.
