PHILADELPHIA, PA - Swarthmore College junior
Aidan Cantine represented the Garnet at the historic Penn Relays on Thursday night. Cantine went head-to-head against several runners from top Division-I programs in the 1500m Championship.
Cantine crossed the finish line at 3:56.59 to place 21st overall in the event. He finished ahead of runners from Harvard University, Texas University, University of Pittsburgh and George Mason University.
The junior opened the race strong and was on pace for a personal record as he recorded a split of 1:49.52 at the 700m mark. However, Cantine was clipped and lost his shoe with 600m remaining in the race.
The Garnet return to the Penn Relays tomorrow as they compete in the women's 4x400 relay.
