MEDFORD, Ma. - The Swarthmore College track & field team sent Aidan Cantine, Aiden Tomov Rose Teszler and Nora Blodgett to the Tufts National Qualifying Meet on Saturday.

Cantine and Tomov highlighted the meet by breaking the program's previous mile record. Teszler also posted a personal-record in the 800m run, while Blodgett had a season-best in the mile. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Cantine and Tomov placed third and fourth, respectively, in the mile behind two Johns Hopkins runners. Cantine set a new school record of 4:11.94, while Tomov followed closely behind his teammate with a personal-best mark of 4:14.25. Both times were faster than the program's previous mile record of 4:14.73 set by Paul Green in 2015. Cantine currently ranks 31st in the nation in the mile, while Tomov sits at 49th overall. 

- Teszler placed third in the 800m run with a personal-record time of 2:15.01. The junior improved to 26th nationally in the event.

- Blodgett was sixth in the mile with a time of 5:06.32. The senior's time marked a season-best effort as she moved into 45th nationally in the event.
