Indianapolis, Ind. - Swarthmore College Men's Swimming sophomore
Andrew Karpenko earned his second All-America honor on Friday at the 2022 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving National Championships.
The sophomore finished the 100 breaststroke in ninth place with a time of 54.26. In the preliminary round, Karpenko swam a 54.52 to earn the ninth seed heading into the finals of the night session. Throughout the season, he set three individual records in the 50-breast (25.29), 100-breast (54.12) and 200-breast (2:00.61).
Karpenko finishes the season as a two-time All-American, and the Most Outstanding Performer and Most Outstanding Rookie Performer at the Centennial Conference Championships. He is also first male swimmer to earn two individual All-America honors in the same season since 2000 when
Ted Sherer did it in the 100-breast and 200-breast.
