LANCASTER, Pa. - From the opening night until the final race, Swarthmore College Women's Swimming dominated the 2022 Centennial Conference Championships as they earned their third conference title in program history.
This season's title was the first in two decades by the Garnet as they last won the Centennial Conference at the 2001-02 season. Swarthmore won the event in record fashion as they scored 950.5 points, which is the most scored by a team in Championship history by either a men's or women's team. The 353.5 point margin of victory by the Garnet was the largest by a women's team in Centennial Conference history.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS

Sophie Rotival added another gold medal to her trophy case as the first year earned a victory in the 200-breast. Rotival finished the event in an NCAA B Cut time of 2:21.83, which is also a Swarthmore College record. The first-year broke a record of 2:23.09 set by Liz Staton in 2017.

Annabella Boardman and
Annie Wixted all added points in "A" final of the 200-breast.
- In the 200-fly,
Annaliese Chen and
Lauren Rohde won gold and silver medals. Chen touched the wall with a top time and NCAA B cut time of 2:05.54, while Rohde finished in 2:07.52. Chen's time ranks the first year third on the all-time list, while Rohde ranks fifth all-time.
Liz Gallagher added nine points for the Garnet as she won the "B" final in 2:13.83.
- In the 200-back,
Erin Szuromi collected silver medal as
Lexi Duffy earned a bronze medal. Szuromi finished the event in 2:07.88, while Duffy touched the wall in 2:08.18.
- Closing out the women's side of the meet, Rotival,
Anna Lyn,
Georgi Mathews and
Cara Lee collected a silver medal in the 400-free relay. The team swam 3:31.60, which is second all-time in Swarthmore history.
- This is the first time in school history, that both the men's and women's swimming programs have won the Centennial Conference Championships in the same season. It is also the first time in school history that both the men's and women's teams have won the conference championship in the same year in their respective sport.
- Prior to the finals session, the Centennial Conference honored the senior from all of the conference institutions. Included in that ceremony were Lyn, Wixted,
Dani Gomez,
Summer Heidish,
Alexa Specht and
Riley Thompson.
UP NEXT
With several NCAA B Cuts, the Garnet will await their fate to see who will compete at the NCAA Division III Championships in Indianapolis, Ind. The championships will take place from March 16th until March 19th. The announcements of the NCAA list will take place in a few weeks.
