COCKEYSVILLE, Md. - Swarthmore College Men's Cross Country finished in fourth place at the Centennial Conference Championships on Saturday held at the Baltimore Agriculture Farm.
Conditions on the 8K course were a little wet from the previous days storms as Swarthmore averaged a time of 27:10 with their top two finishers crossing in the top-15.
Aidan Cantine led the Garnet with a top five finish and a time of 25:50.9. The junior finished the event in fourth place, earning All-Centennial Conference honors. Cantine is the first Garnet runner for the program to earn all-conference accolades since John Gragon in 2016.
Atticus Hempel earned 11 points as he finished in 11th place for the Garnet. The freshman crossed the finish line of the 8K course in 26:23.9 for All-Centennial Conference honors.
Harrison Kim and
Sam Brody finished the event in 36th and 37th place, respectively. Kim, who earned 26 points, crossed in 27:49.2, while Brody crossed in 27:50.0 for 27 points.
Colin DeLaney rounded out the top five Garnet runners with 34 points and a time of 27:59.9.
Ben Rosin crossed in 28:03.2, while
Aiden Tomov finished in 28:32.2. Haverford (37 points) won the team event with Johns Hopkins (45), and Dickinson (83) finishing ahead of the Garnet.
The Garnet will compete at the NCAA Metro Region Championships on November 13th at Gloucester County DREAM Park in Logan Township, N.J.
