SWARTHMORE, Pa.—Swarthmore College Men's Basketball will be hosting NCAA Tournament games at Tarble Pavilion for the fourth season in a row beginning with the first and second round matchups on Friday, March 6 and 7.
Swarthmore (26-1) is the top-ranked seed in the tournament and will be hosting Brooklyn College, Babson College and Ithaca College in the first weekend.
The Garnet are set to play Brooklyn College (13-15) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Brooklyn advanced to the NCAA Tournament
Babson (20-6) and Ithaca (23-5) will open the tournament at 5 p.m. on Friday.
Winners of Friday games will play each other in the second round on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
Brooklyn College won the CUNYAC Championship 62-55 over Baruch College. Noah Shy leads the Bulldogs in scoring this season with 12.0 points per game.
Babson went 9-0 to open the season and finished the year with a loss to WPI in the semifinals. Jack Coolahan averages 18.8 points per game to lead the Beavers.
Ithaca rides a 13-game win streak into the NCAA Tournament after winning the Liberty League Championship. Riley Thompson's 18.4 points per game are a team best.
The format of this year's tournament is different than in the past. The third round of the tournament will be a single game at a school site on Friday, March 13.
The national quarterfinals and Final Four games will take place in Fort Wayne, Indiana on March 20 and 21. The championship game will be held in Atlanta on April 5 at 12:30 p.m.
