GREENWOOD, Ind. – Swarthmore College's Eddie Paquette was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Men's Basketball Team this week. It was the first career selection for the senior.
 
To be eligible for Academic All-District accolades, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, appear in 90 percent of their team's contests or start in at least 66 percent, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or better. The Academic All-District Team is part of the Academic All-America program, which is the longest running and premier award for athletic and academic success across college sports.
 
Paquette led the Garnet in scoring with 15.0 points per game. He shot 44.0 percent from the field and made a team-high 44 three-pointers. Paquette was first on the squad in steals (28), second in rebounding (5.8 rpg), and third in assists (48). The senior scored in double figures in 23 of his 26 games, netting a season-high 23 points on two occasions. Paquette recorded his 1,000th career point on January 17 at McDaniel, becoming the 30^th Swarthmore player to reach the mark.
 
Swarthmore closed the year with a 13-13 record and qualified for the Centennial Conference Tournament.
