GREENSBORO, N.C.—Swarthmore College Men's Swimming's 200 medley relay and 400 free relay team earned All-America Honorable Mentions at the 2019 NCAA National Championship. As a team, the Garnet finished 31st overall at nationals with 12 total points.

Day One
The Garnet team of Chris Smith, Jeffrey Tse, Alec Lawless and Jeremy Rockaway finished 13th overall in the 200 medley with a time of 1:30.69 to earn the honorable mention status and eight team points for the Garnet. Tse led off with a 22.51 time in the 50 back, Smith followed with a 50 breaststroke split time of 25.30, Rockaway posted a 50 fly split of 22.81 and Lawless finished it off with a 20.07 split in the freestyle.

The Garnet had registered a prelim time of 1:30.67.

In the prelims, Tom Ward finished 31st in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:39.09. Tse swam the 200 IM in 1:53.59


Day Two
Tse went 23rd in the 100 butterfly prelims with a time of 49.27. Ward posted a time of 1:45.01 for 37th in the 200 free. The Garnet 400 medley relay team of Tse, Smith, Rockaway and Lawless finished in 17th in the prelims with a time of 3:21.15.

Day Three
In the prelims, Tse finished 21st in the 100 breaststroke (55.87) and Smith was right behind him at 55.90. The Garnet came in 17th in the 800 free relay with a time of 6:50.70.

Day Four
Swarthmore swimmers earned All-American status again in the 400 free relay. The Garnet quad finished in 15th overall with a time of 3:02.99. Lawless led off for the Garnet with a time of 45.51 in the first 100 yards. Tse followed with a 45.80 split. Smith had the next segment and completed it in 45.42. Rockaway closed out the relay for the Garnet in 46.26.

Ward clocked in at 16:02.61 in the 1,650 free for 18th place.
