Haverford Results Diplomat Open Results
HAVERFORD, Pa. – Swarthmore College Men's Track and Field began the 2019-20 campaign with a strong showing at the Haverford Holiday Meet and finished first of four schools with 124 points on Saturday.
Adil Belgaumi led the Garnet with a first place finish in the 200 meter run, and a fifth place finish in the 60-meter dash. In the 200, the senior finished with a time of 23.49, and crossed the line in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.47.
In the 200-meter run,
Deante Bryan finished in fourth with a time of 25.59.
Sky Park and
Ryan Mullins crossed the finish line with times of 25.94 and 26.00. Park added an eight place finish in the 60 with a time of 7.79, while Bryan crossed in 7.82 and Mullins notched a time of 8.15.
Ben Wade crossed the finish line of the 800-meter run in second place with a time of 2:05. Sophomore
Jonah Ring finished in fourth with a mark of 2:08.45, while
Lukas Irwin crossed in 2:10.76 for a sixth place finish.
In the field, Christopher Folk earned the victory in the high jump with a mark of 1.75 meters (5-feet 8.75 inches).
Bastiaan Phair notched a best mark of 1.65 meters (5-feet 5-inches) for a third place finish.
Jonah Covitz added a first place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 12.09 meters (39-feet eight-inches). The sophomore recorded a third place finish in the long jump with a leap of 5.84 meters (19-feet 2-inches).
Gabe Stuger earned a third place finish with a throw of 10.08 meters (33-feet 1-inch) in the shot put. Phair finished in fourth with a distance of 9.54 meters (31-feet 3.75 inches), while
Julio Del Cid earned a sixth place finish. The freshman notched a best throw of 8.08 meters (26-feet 6.25-inches).
At the Coach I Open,
Aidan Cantine finished fourth out of 24 competitors in the mile with a time of 4:31.42.
Aiden Tomov crossed the finish line in seventh place finish of the 3,000 meter race with a time of 9:23.57.
The Swarthmore men will get back in action in 2020 at the NYC Gotham Cup in Staten Island, N.Y. on Friday, January 17
th.
