MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.—Swarthmore College Men's Track & Field competed against teams from all three NCAA divisions at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational on Friday and Saturday to open the 2018 outdoor season.
Daniel Belkin finished eighth in the high jump after clearing 1.8 meters, and Benjamin Hejna jumped 5.84m to finish 15th in the long jump.
Max Park and Alex Flowers both cleared 3.85m in the pole vault to finish 16th and 17th, respectively.
Andrew Jansen had top-30 finishes in the hammer (37.87m), the discus (41.59m) and the shot put (12.89m). Jared Hunt also finished in the top-30 in the discus (39.22m) and the shot put (13.56m).
In the mile run, Frank Kenny claimed 22nd place with a time of 4:31.04, which translates to the Centennial's top time in the 1,500 of 4:10.96.
Ben Warren finished in 26th in the 800m with a time of 2:07.12, and Saadiq Garba finished 30th in the 400m with a time of 51.59.
Swarthmore's next competition is at the Danny Curran Invitational at Widener University on Friday and Saturday.
