COLLEGEVILLE, Pa.—Swarthmore College Men's Track & Field finished in third place in back-to-back indoor seasons after earning 85 points in the 2017-18 Centennial Conference Championship.
In Sunday's events, Daniel Belkin another two medals, going for the gold in the high jump with a mark of 1.9 meters. He also captured silver in the long jump with a leap of 6.47m. Benjamin Hejna posted a long jump of 6.32m to earn the bronze and got fourth in the high jump (1.8m).
In the 60m dash, Felix Laniyan, competing in his first Conference Championship, won the bronze medal with a time of 7.15 seconds. Laniyan broke his own school record in the 60m, which he set last weekend, which happened to be his first ever collegiate track meet.
Senior Jared Hunt was awarded the bronze in the shot put with a throw of 14.99m. Ryan Marrone's throw of 14.65m was enough for fifth place and four more points for Swarthmore.
Sophomore Adil Belgaumi ran the 200m in 23.35 seconds to take fourth place. Belgaumi and the 4x400 team (Saadiq Garba, Belkin, Laniyan) won their section and were fifth overall with a time of 3:32.27.
The Garnet now will be preparing for some spring break practice followed by the opening of outdoor season at the end of March.
