BALTIMORE—On day two of the Centennial Conference Championship, Swarthmore College Women's Track and Field added 20 more points to their total, giving them 28 points and a share of fourth place.
The Garnet tallied a pair of silver medals, won by the 4x800-meter relay team and by Maggie O'Neil in the discus.
The relay squad of Jen Beltran, Kate Hannah, Indy Reid-Shaw and Lilly Price finished the 4x800 in 9:26.42, earning eight points. Price, who anchored the event, ran the fastest Garnet split (2:17.634) and the second-fastest in the race.
In the discus, O'Neil threw 40.25 meters for another eight points for Swarthmore. Two other Garnet throwers finished in the top eight. Freshmen Claire Conley and Rachel Vresilovic added two points and one point with throws of 32.10m and 32.06m.
In the high jump, sophomore Rachel Leifield earned a point for the Garnet by finishing eighth with a leap of 1.42m.
Swarthmore concludes the Conference Championship on Sunday.
