CHESTER, Pa.--Swarthmore College Track and Field competed at the Larry Ellis Invitational at Princeton University and the Widener Invitational in a rain-soaked weekend.
At Widener, freshman
Vaughn Parts ran to third place in the 10,000-meter race with a time of 32:33.41.
Andrew Jansen hurled the discus 43.14 meters, a new personal best, and finished in fifth.
Daniel Belkin leapt to sixth in the long jump (6.44m) and was also 10th in the 400 (50.47).
Ben Warren finished 10th in the 800 (1:56.02) and
Ryan Marrone threw for 10th in the shot put (13.18m).
At the Ellis Invitational,
John Gagnon ran the 5,000 in 14:50.51.
Swarthmore competes at the Penn Relays next Thursday and Friday.
