HAVERFORD, Pa.–Junior Jared Hunt of the Swarthmore track and field team set a program record in the indoor shot put at the Haverford Holiday Meet on Saturday, Dec. 9.

On his last throw of the afternoon, Hunt cleared 14.86 meters (48'9") to break Norman Matthews' record of 48'5.5", which stood since 1982. Hunt won the event, finishing ahead of classmate Ryan Marrone, who achieved a personal best of 14.55 meters. Andrew Jansen placed fourth after recording a throw of 13.50 meters.
