KANSAS CITY, Mo.—Swarthmore College junior forward
Marin McCoy earned All-American status for the second time in her career, being named to the United Soccer Coaches Second Team on Thursday night.
McCoy, who was also named a second-team All-American in 2015, is the second player in program history to be a two-time All-American. Former teammate
Caroline Khanna accomplished that feat with appearances in 2015 and 2016. In fact, the pair are the program's only All-Americans so far.
McCoy's 2017 All-American campaign was even better than her 2015 season. In 21 games this year, the Garnet forward posted 18 goals and added 12 assists for a total of 48 points, shattering her previous record of 40 points. After three seasons, McCoy is the program's career leader in points (114), goals (43) and assists (28).
Swarthmore went 15-4-2 on the season, winning the Centennial Championship and advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
