MEDIA, Pa.—Swarthmore College Men's Cross Country opened the 2016 campaign with a 5K at Rose Tree Park. The Garnet, running in packs, placed six runners in the top-10 and had 11 total in the top 20.

Andrew Prior, Will Sullivan, John Gagnon, Lucas Heinzerling, Vaughn Parts and Corey Branch all finished within six tenths of a second of each other, claiming places four through nine on the final results. Prior and Sullivan were listed at 17:48.9, an average mile speed of 5:43.7.

Graham Doskock finished in 12th with a time of 18:31.8 and William Colgan (18:36.1), Garrett Ruley (18:36.1), Frank Kenny (18:36.2) and Evan Baker (18:36.5) placed 14th through 17th.

Swarthmore races against alumni on Sept. 10 and then runs the Mainline Invite on Sept. 16.
