CHESTER, Pa. and PRINCETON, N.J.—Swarthmore College Men's Track & Field met at the Widener and Princeton Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
Paul Green ran to a new school record in the 1,500-meters, with a time of 3:52.86 at Princeton's Larry Invitational. That mark was more than a second faster than the previous time set in 1996 by Scott Reents and was nearly two seconds faster than Green's own old personal best.
Spencer Friske finished the 1,500 in 3:56.03, the fifth-best Swarthmore total.
John Gagnon's 5,000-meter time of 14.57.54 was also fifth best at Swarthmore.
The Garnet had a top-10 finisher in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at Widener.
Garrett Ruley ran and jumped his way to a 10:23.93 time to finish in sixth. Andrew Jensen finished in 10th in the discus, throwing it 38.73 meters.
Jon Saltzman posted a pole vault mark of 3.6 meters for 10th place.
Swarthmore runs in the Penn Relays on Thursday and Friday.
