COMPLETE RESULTSHAVERFORD, Pa.—The Swarthmore College men's indoor track and field team competed in its final meet before next weekend's Centennial Conference Championships at Haverford's Keogh Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 20 and had several strong showings in different disciplines.
Senior
Paul Green won the mile with a time of 4:22.63 while several others registered times that rank in the top ten of the program's history. Senior
Spencer Friske placed seventh in the 3000-meter run in 2:01.84, the seventh-fastest time in Swarthmore history, and
Jerry Qin's mark of 9.81 in the 60-meter high hurdles was third-best all-time.
Chris Chan also put his name in the record books in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.67, which ranks eighth in program annals.
Junior
Peter Sayde was the top finisher for Swarthmore in both the 60-meter (7.41) and 200-meter (24.22) dashes and senior
Dominic Castro-Wehr won his section and placed sixth overall in the 800-meter event with a time of 2:01.84. In the 400-meter dash,
Ethan Lee (52.11) and
Benjamin Warren (52.38) finished fifth and sixth, respectively, before combining with
Zain Hannan and
Corey Branch to come in second in the 4x400 relay (3:35.45).
In the field events, Chan (5.99m),
Daniel Belkin (5.93m), and
Benjamin Hejna (5.80m) occupied the second through fourth spots in the high jump and
Andrew Jansen placed third in the shot put with a distance of 12.78 meters.
The Garnet will conclude the indoor portion of their season at next weekend's conference championships hosted by Ursinus College on Feb. 27 and 28.
