Zack Yonda was not enough as the Swarthmore College men's basketball team suffered a 94-72 setback against Ursinus on Wednesday, Feb. 4 at Helfferich Hall.
Joseph LoStracco converted a layup to break a 6-6 deadlock and kickstart a streak of 11 straight points for Ursinus (8-12, CC 5-8). The Bears, who never trailed the rest of the way then went up by as many as 12 before the Garnet started to come back.

Karl Barkley to slash the deficit and make it a one-possession game at 25-22, but that was as close as the visitors would come. Steve Leonard and Malik Draper answered with consecutive buckets, and Draper drove in for a layup in the final minute to give the hosts a 51-39 advantage at recess.
The Bears kept the margin at double digits throughout the second half. After Swarthmore came within nine on two occasions, Ursinus used another run and ballooned its lead up to 19 when a pair of LoStracco free throws made it an 80-61 score with just over four minutes left.
Yonda set a career scoring mark by shooting 11-for-23 from the field, including 5-for-10 from long range, and 5-for-6 from the line to lead the way for Swarthmore. Senior
Karl Barkley added 11 points and also finished with four assists and three steals.
Draper notched 21 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and four blocks to lead the way for Ursinus, which only needed 10 points from its bench to earn the convincing victory. Joseph LoStracco and Remi Janicot ended with 20 points apiece.
Swarthmore (7-13, CC 4-9) returns home to face nationally-ranked Johns Hopkins on Saturday, Feb. 7 at 3 p.m.
