CHESTER, Pa.—Swarthmore College Women's Swimming bested the Widener College Pride 148.5-113.5 on Saturday. Strong performances in the 200-yard events helped lifted the Garnet to victory. The Garnet finished first in the 200-yard medley, butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and individual medley.
In the 200-yard medley,
Emily Bley, Liz Staton,
Ashley Hwang and
Sophie Moody raced out to a first-place finish in a time of 1:56.08. Swarthmore also had the second-place finish in that heat by
Jillian Haywood,
Sarah Solomon, Sierra Benz and
Briana Schoenek.
Staton and Solomon were double-winners. Staton finished the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:09.88 and the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:34.95. Solomon had the fastest finish in the 200-yard butterfly (2:19.42) and the 200-yard IM (2:21.04).
Scout Clark won the 200-yard backstroke in 2:16.40.
Ashley Hwang finished first in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:00.83.
Emily Bley won the 500-yard freestyle in 5:23.45.
Swarthmore returns to the pool on Friday when it hosts the Swat Invite.
