LEHIGH, Pa.—Swarthmore Men's Cross Country finished with an average time of 26:27 to come in 29th place in the Paul Short Run at Lehigh University on a cool, rainy Friday afternoon. The Paul Short Brown race featured 39 teams from all three NCAA Divisions and had 354 finishers.
Swarthmore senior
Paul Green led the Garnet with a 25:58 time to finish in 105th place. The Garnet's next four scorers all finished in under 27 minutes.
Corey Branch completed the muddy course in 26:12,
John Gagnon came in at 26:26,
Mayank Agrawal crossed in 26:43 and
Mike McConville posted the Garnet's fifth score with a time of 26:53. Branch, Agrawal and Gagnon all trimmed significant time off their pace on this course compared to last year's times. Compared to 2014, Gagnon was 1:23 faster, Agrawal ran 1:21 faster and Branch was 56 seconds quicker.
William Colgan and
Will Sullivan finished within seconds of each other at 27:02 and 27:07.
The Garnet's next competition is at the Inter-Regional Border Battle in Glassboro, N.J. on Oct. 17.
