FULL RESULTS

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – Junior Jonas Oppenheimer anchored the record-breaking 4x800-meter relay to lead the Swarthmore College men's track & field team to an eighth-place standing after the second day of the Centennial Conference Championships on Saturday, May 3 at Clothier Field. The Garnet ended the day with eight points through seven events.

The men's 4x800-meter relay team consisting of freshman Stuart Arbuckle, sophomore Paul Green, junior Erick White and Oppenheimer hit the tape in 7:42.51 to smash the previous program standard of 7:49.08 set last year and finish second overall. The group also surpassed the previous meet and track record that was established by Gettysburg when the Garnet most recently hosted the league's championship event in 2010.

In addition, Swarthmore had two student-athletes combine to advance past the trials in three events. Junior Jason Heo qualified for the finals in the 110- and 400-meter hurdles by posting times of 16.74 and 57.04, respectively, while freshman Zain Hannan navigated the track in 50.40 seconds to advance to tomorrow's 400-meter dash final.

Swarthmore will conclude competing at the Centennial Conference Championships tomorrow morning beginning at 11 a.m.
